A viral brine drink that blends tangy dill pickle juice with fresh lemon juice, sugar, and water to create a refreshing, zingy lemonade with a unique salty-sour twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large fresh lemons, juiced (about 1 cup / 240 ml lemon juice)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) dill pickle juice
  • 1/3 cup (67 grams) granulated sugar
  • 3 cups (720 ml) cold water
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Fresh dill sprigs (optional, for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Roll each lemon on the counter to soften, cut in half, then juice using a citrus juicer or by hand. Strain if desired to avoid pulp or seeds.
  2. In a pitcher, add the granulated sugar to the lemon juice. Stir vigorously until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Pour in 1/2 cup (120 ml) dill pickle juice. Taste and add more if a stronger briny flavor is desired.
  4. Add 3 cups (720 ml) cold water to the pitcher and stir well to combine all flavors evenly.
  5. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to chill and allow flavors to marry. Stir and taste before serving; adjust sugar or pickle juice if needed.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the lemonade over the ice, and garnish with lemon slices and fresh dill sprigs if desired.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor; bottled lemon juice tastes flat. Adjust pickle juice and sugar to taste. For a fizzy version, substitute some or all cold water with sparkling water. Chill at least 30 minutes for best flavor. Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 3 days and stir before serving. Avoid freezing.
