Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila Blanco (100% agave)
  • 3 oz (90 ml) Fresh Grapefruit Juice, strained
  • 3 oz (90 ml) Soda Water (sparkling water)
  • ยฝ oz (15 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
  • ยฝ oz (15 ml) Simple Syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Pinch of Salt (for rimming the glass, optional)
  • Ice Cubes
  • Grapefruit Wedge or Twist (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rub a grapefruit wedge or lime slice around the rim of your glass, then dip it lightly into a small plate of kosher salt. Set the glass aside.
  2. Cut your grapefruit in half and use a juicer to extract about 3 oz (90 ml) of juice. Strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer to remove pulp and seeds.
  3. Squeeze ยฝ oz (15 ml) of fresh lime juice.
  4. In a shaker or directly in your glass, combine 2 oz (60 ml) tequila blanco, the fresh grapefruit juice, ยฝ oz (15 ml) simple syrup, and lime juice. Stir gently to blend.
  5. Fill the glass with plenty of ice cubes.
  6. Slowly pour 3 oz (90 ml) soda water over the ice to fill the glass. Stir gently to mix without losing the fizz.
  7. Add a wedge or twist of grapefruit for garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh grapefruit juice strained to remove pulp for a smooth texture. Rim the glass lightly with salt for flavor contrast. Stir gently to preserve soda water fizz. Adjust simple syrup to taste or omit for a lower sugar option. Chill glass before serving for best experience. Add soda water just before serving to keep fizz fresh.
