Bright, tangy, and just sweet enough popsicles that taste like summer in a glass, these frozen Tequila Sunrise cocktails offer a fun and refreshing way to enjoy a classic drink in popsicle form.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) Tequila Blanco
  • 300 ml (10 fl oz) Fresh Orange Juice
  • 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) Grenadine Syrup
  • 30 ml (1 fl oz) Lime Juice
  • 2 tbsp Simple Syrup (optional)
  • Ice Cubes

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the fresh orange juice, lime juice, tequila blanco, and simple syrup if using. Stir well.
  2. Add ice cubes to the mixture and chill for about 10 minutes to keep the popsicles smooth.
  3. Remove the ice cubes or strain the mixture and carefully pour the orange juice and tequila blend into popsicle molds, filling about 3/4 full.
  4. Freeze the molds until the orange juice layer is firm enough to add grenadine without mixing, about 2 to 3 hours.
  5. Slowly drizzle grenadine syrup over the frozen orange juice layer to create a gradient effect.
  6. Return the molds to the freezer and freeze until completely solid, about 4 to 6 hours or overnight.
  7. To unmold, dip the molds briefly in warm water and gently pull the sticks out. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not stir the grenadine into the orange layer to maintain the gradient effect. Remove ice cubes before freezing to avoid watery popsicles. For a lower alcohol version, reduce tequila by half and top off with sparkling water. Use fresh citrus juices and quality tequila for best flavor. Freeze overnight for best texture.
