A non-alcoholic twist on the classic Moscow Mule, combining spicy ginger beer, tart cranberry juice, and fresh lime for a refreshing, sophisticated mocktail that’s ready in under 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ounces (180 ml) ginger beer (e.g., Fever-Tree or Gosling’s)
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) 100% pure cranberry juice (e.g., Ocean Spray)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
  • ½ ounce (15 ml) simple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Ice (large cubes)
  • Fresh cranberries (for garnish)
  • Lime wheel (for garnish)
  • Mint sprig (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill your copper mug or glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes, or fill with ice water while prepping ingredients, then dump out.
  2. Roll the lime on the counter to release juices, cut in half, and squeeze to get exactly 1 ounce of juice.
  3. Fill the mug about three-quarters full with large ice cubes.
  4. Pour 2 ounces of cranberry juice over the ice.
  5. Add 1 ounce of fresh lime juice.
  6. If using, add ½ ounce of simple syrup.
  7. Slowly pour 6 ounces of ginger beer over the ice to preserve carbonation.
  8. Stir gently 3-4 times with a bar spoon to combine.
  9. Garnish with fresh cranberries, a lime wheel, and a slapped mint sprig (if using).
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use a spicy ginger beer for the best kick. Avoid ginger ale as it’s too sweet. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup based on the tartness of your cranberry juice. Chill all ingredients beforehand to prevent dilution. For a party, mix cranberry juice, lime juice, and simple syrup ahead; add ginger beer just before serving.
