  • 1 ยฝ cups vodka (360 ml)
  • ยฝ cup freshly squeezed lime juice (120 ml)
  • ยผ cup simple syrup (60 ml), adjust to taste
  • 2 cups chilled sparkling water (480 ml)
  • A handful of fresh mint leaves, torn (optional)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Rinse and cube about 6 cups (around 900 grams) of fresh watermelon, removing seeds if needed.
  2. Place the watermelon cubes into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth, yielding roughly 3 cups (720 ml) of watermelon juice. Optionally strain for a clearer punch.
  3. In a large punch bowl or pitcher, combine the watermelon juice, 1 ยฝ cups (360 ml) vodka, and ยฝ cup (120 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice. Stir gently to blend flavors.
  4. Add ยผ cup (60 ml) simple syrup to balance tartness. Taste and adjust sweetness as desired.

Notes

If watermelon is very sweet, reduce or omit simple syrup. Add sparkling water just before serving to maintain fizz. For a non-alcoholic version, omit vodka and increase sparkling water or add lemon-lime soda. Tear mint leaves gently to release oils without bitterness. Store punch base (without sparkling water and ice) in fridge up to 2 days.
