A vibrant, tangy, and sweet nonalcoholic watermelon margarita mocktail that’s perfect for hot summer days. This easy-to-make drink blends fresh watermelon, lime, and sparkling water with a salted rim and mint garnish for a refreshing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600 grams) fresh watermelon, chopped and seeded if needed
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) fresh lime juice (from about 2 medium limes)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons (1530 ml) agave nectar or honey, to taste
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold sparkling water
  • Sea salt, for rimming the glass
  • Fresh mint leaves, a few sprigs for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glasses by spreading sea salt on a small plate. Rub the rim of each glass with a lime wedge to moisten, then dip the rims into the salt, twisting slightly to coat evenly. Set aside.
  2. Place the chopped watermelon into a blender and blend on high until smooth, about 1 minute. The watermelon should be juicy but still have some texture.
  3. Optional: Pour the blended watermelon through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove pulp and seeds, pressing with a spoon. This step takes about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the fresh lime juice and your choice of sweetener (agave nectar or honey). Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed.
  5. Pour in the cold sparkling water and stir gently to combine without losing carbonation.
  6. Fill each salted-rim glass with ice cubes. Pour the watermelon margarita mocktail over the ice until nearly full.
  7. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge. Serve immediately for best refreshment.

Notes

Keep watermelon chilled before blending for an extra-cold mocktail without diluting it with too much ice. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. If skipping the salt rim, add a pinch of salt directly to the mixture to balance sweetness and acidity. Stir sparkling water gently to preserve fizz. Mint garnish is optional but recommended for aroma and freshness.
