A quick and easy homemade summer drink blending juicy watermelon with fresh mint and lime for a naturally hydrating and refreshing beverage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon (about 600g)
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • Juice of 1 large lime (about 2 tablespoons or 30ml)
  • 2 cups filtered water (480ml), adjust to taste
  • 12 tablespoons honey, agave syrup, or sugar (optional)
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut about 4 cups (600g) of seedless watermelon into cubes, removing rind.
  2. Place 10-12 fresh mint leaves in a large bowl or pitcher and gently muddle with a muddler or wooden spoon to release oils without shredding.
  3. Add watermelon cubes and 2 cups filtered water to a blender and blend until smooth, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  4. Optional: Strain the blended watermelon through a fine mesh sieve into the pitcher with muddled mint, pressing pulp to extract juice.
  5. Stir in lime juice and add sweetener if desired, mixing until dissolved.
  6. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or glasses, stir gently, garnish with mint sprig or lime wheel, and serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe, seedless watermelon for best flavor. Muddle mint gently to avoid bitterness. Straining is optional but recommended for smooth texture. Adjust water and sweetener based on watermelon sweetness. Serve immediately for best freshness. Can refrigerate up to 2 days; add fresh mint and ice before serving.
