watermelon vodka slushie recipe - featured image

A quick and easy summer slushie blending fresh watermelon, vodka, ice, and lime juice for a refreshing and balanced cocktail perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and seedless
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 12 tablespoons simple syrup or honey (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut about 4 cups of seedless watermelon into cubes, removing any seeds if needed.
  2. Place watermelon cubes, 1 cup vodka, 2 cups ice cubes, and 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice in a high-speed blender. Add 1-2 tablespoons simple syrup or honey if watermelon isnโ€™t very sweet.
  3. Blend on medium-high speed for 30-45 seconds until smooth and icy. Adjust consistency by adding a splash of cold water or more vodka if too thick, or more ice if too thin.
  4. Taste and adjust flavor by adding extra lime juice or sweetener if needed. Blend briefly again if additions are made.
  5. Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves. Serve immediately before the slushie melts.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon with bright pink flesh for best sweetness. Adjust ice-to-fruit ratio carefully to avoid watery or too thick texture. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture. For a non-alcoholic version, omit vodka and add sparkling water or coconut water.
