A warm and cozy fall cocktail combining spiced rum, apple cider, and fragrant spices for the ultimate autumn drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (1 liter) apple cider
  • 1 cup (240 ml) spiced rum
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 orange slices
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) brown sugar (optional)
  • Water (optional, for adjusting strength)
  • Star anise (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, pour 4 cups (1 liter) of apple cider and add 1 cup (240 ml) of spiced rum.
  2. Add 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 whole cloves, and 2 orange slices.
  3. If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon (15 g) of brown sugar for added sweetness.
  4. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it gently simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Taste the cider and adjust sweetness or spice levels as needed. Add a splash of water if the flavor is too strong.
  6. Optional: Strain the cider to remove spices and orange slices for a smoother drink.
  7. Ladle the cider into mugs or heatproof glasses. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, orange slice, or star anise.
