A vibrant and refreshing margarita combining cool cucumber, fiery jalapeño, and a tangy Tajin salted rim, perfect for summer parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila Blanco (100% agave)
  • 1/2 medium fresh cucumber, sliced
  • 23 thin slices fresh jalapeño (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) agave syrup
  • Tajin seasoning for rimming
  • Crushed ice
  • Optional garnishes: cucumber wheel, jalapeño slice, or lime wedge

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip it into a shallow plate of Tajin seasoning to coat evenly. Set aside to dry for about 2 minutes.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, add sliced cucumber and jalapeño slices. Muddle gently about 8 to 10 times to release juices and oils without pulverizing.
  3. Add 2 oz tequila blanco, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 1/2 oz agave syrup to the shaker.
  4. Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with crushed ice.
  5. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until cold.
  6. Strain the margarita into the prepared glass using a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds and pulp.
  7. Garnish with a cucumber wheel or jalapeño slice on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

Muddle gently to avoid bitter jalapeño pulp. Adjust jalapeño slices and seeds to control spice level. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Chill glasses before serving for a colder drink. If Tajin is unavailable, use sea salt mixed with smoked paprika or chili powder for the rim.
