These adorable sweet potato bites are equal parts delicious and festive, making them perfect for your Halloween party spread. Easy to make and customizable, theyโ€™re guaranteed to be a hit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium-sized sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • Black olives (for spooky eyes or spider legs)
  • Cream cheese (for piping ghostly shapes or spider webs)
  • Chives (for edible hair or creepy designs)
  • Pumpkin seeds (for crunch and fun toppings)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Slice them into 1/4-inch thick rounds for even cooking.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the sweet potato rounds with olive oil, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup for extra caramelization.
  4. Arrange the slices in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and tender.
  5. Once the sweet potatoes cool slightly, start decorating! Use cream cheese to pipe ghost shapes, black olives for spooky eyes, and chives or pumpkin seeds for fun accents.
  6. Arrange the bites on a platter and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil the sweet potatoes for 1-2 minutes at the end of roasting. Decorate right before serving for the best presentation.
