A refreshing homemade version of the Starbucks Strawberry Açaí Refresher that balances sweet and tangy flavors using simple ingredients and brewed green tea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 green tea bags (Sencha or Jasmine recommended)
  • 1 cup (150g) frozen strawberries
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) açaí berry juice or concentrate (or substitute with pomegranate and blueberry juice blend)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) white grape juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) simple syrup (homemade or store-bought; can substitute honey, agave, or maple syrup)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh strawberry slices and lemon wedges for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew the green tea: Steep 2 green tea bags in 2 cups (480ml) of hot water for 3-5 minutes. Remove tea bags and allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then chill in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the strawberry puree: Add 1 cup (150g) of frozen strawberries to a blender and blend until smooth, about 30 seconds. Add a splash of water or brewed green tea if needed to help blend.
  3. Mix the juices and syrup: In a large pitcher, combine 1/3 cup (80ml) açaí juice, 1/2 cup (120ml) white grape juice, 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons (30ml) simple syrup. Stir well.
  4. Add the chilled green tea: Pour in the 2 cups (480ml) of chilled green tea and stir gently to combine.
  5. Incorporate the strawberry puree: Pour the blended strawberries into the pitcher and stir until fully mixed.
  6. Serve immediately: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the refresher over. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices and lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

Use good-quality green tea like jasmine or Sencha for best flavor. Chill the tea completely before mixing to avoid dilution. Adjust sweetness by varying simple syrup amount. For a fizzy version, replace half the green tea with sparkling water before serving. Fresh strawberries can be used instead of frozen; add ice cubes to chill. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 24 hours and stir before serving.
