A simple, authentic, and refreshing cocktail made with silver tequila, fresh lime juice, and sparkling mineral water, perfect for warm weather and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Silver Tequila (Blanco)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
  • 46 oz (120180 ml) Sparkling Mineral Water (traditionally Topo Chico)
  • Ice Cubes (large or clear preferred)
  • Lime Wedge or Wheel (for garnish)
  • Optional: Salt (for rimming the glass)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass (optional salt rim): Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a highball glass and dip lightly into coarse salt. Set aside.
  2. Juice the lime: Squeeze about 1 oz (30 ml) of fresh lime juice, straining out seeds if needed.
  3. Add ice: Fill the glass about halfway with large ice cubes.
  4. Pour tequila: Measure and add 2 oz (60 ml) of silver tequila over the ice.
  5. Add lime juice: Pour the freshly squeezed lime juice directly into the glass.
  6. Top with sparkling mineral water: Gently pour 4 to 6 oz (120-180 ml) of chilled sparkling mineral water over the mixture, avoiding pouring directly on ice.
  7. Stir gently: Use a bar spoon to stir lightly once or twice to mix without losing effervescence.
  8. Garnish and serve: Add a lime wedge or wheel on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for brightness and a 100% agave blanco tequila for authentic flavor. Add sparkling water last and stir gently to maintain bubbles. Large ice cubes keep the drink cold longer without diluting quickly. Optional salt rim adds a subtle savory contrast. Chill glass beforehand for best results. If too tart, add a splash of agave syrup.
