A spooky and delicious Halloween-themed sangria with a deep crimson hue, fruity flavors, and eerie garnishes like floating ‘eyeballs’ (grapes). Perfect for parties or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle dry red wine (Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 1 cup red grapes, halved
  • 1 orange, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate arils
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 cup club soda (optional, for fizz)
  • Honey or simple syrup, to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the oranges into thin rounds, halve the grapes, and gather the pomegranate arils into a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, orange juice, triple sec, and apple cider. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Add the sliced oranges, halved grapes, pomegranate arils, and cinnamon sticks. Stir again, ensuring the fruit is evenly distributed.
  4. Taste the sangria and add honey or simple syrup if needed. Stir until fully dissolved.
  5. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours (or overnight) to let the flavors meld.
  6. If desired, pour in the club soda just before serving to give the sangria a bubbly twist.
  7. Ladle the sangria into glasses, ensuring each serving gets a mix of fruit and liquid. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or extra pomegranate arils for a spooky touch.

Notes

For a stronger drink, add a shot of rum or brandy. For a kid-friendly version, replace the wine with cranberry juice and skip the triple sec. Chill the sangria for at least 2-3 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
