Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 bottles (750 ml each) sparkling wine or champagne (dry brut or sparkling rosรฉ)
  • 3 cups (720 ml) fresh orange juice, preferably freshly squeezed
  • 2 cups (480 ml) fresh pineapple juice
  • 2 cups (480 ml) fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cranberry juice (100% juice)
  • 2 cups fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries), washed
  • Thin slices of lemon, lime, and blood orange for garnish
  • Sprigs of fresh herbs (mint, rosemary, or thyme)
  • Edible flowers (nasturtiums or pansies) – optional
  • Ice cubes or frozen fruit (frozen berries recommended)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the juices by squeezing fresh oranges, grapefruits, and pineapples using a citrus juicer. Aim for about 3 cups orange juice, 2 cups grapefruit juice, and 2 cups pineapple juice. Strain if desired and pour each juice into separate pitchers.
  2. Chill the bottles of sparkling wine or champagne in the fridge or ice bucket. Open bottles carefully just before guests arrive to preserve bubbles.
  3. Wash and dry fresh berries. Slice lemons, limes, and blood oranges thinly. Arrange garnishes in small bowls or trays along with fresh herbs and edible flowers if using.
  4. Arrange the mimosa bar by placing pitchers of juices alongside sparkling wine bottles on a table or countertop. Scatter bowls of garnishes around. Set out champagne flutes, spoons, stir sticks, and a bowl of ice cubes or frozen berries.
  5. Guide guests to fill their glass about halfway with sparkling wine, then add their choice of juice. Encourage experimenting with garnishes and flavors, reminding them to balance sweetness and tartness.
  6. Keep an eye on juice and wine levels, topping off pitchers and bottles as needed. Replace empty garnish bowls to keep the bar fresh and inviting.

Notes

Open sparkling wine bottles slowly and at an angle to keep fizz intact. Use frozen berries instead of ice cubes to chill drinks without diluting flavor. Prepare juices fresh on the day of the event for best flavor. Garnishes and juices can be prepped up to a day ahead. Non-alcoholic sparkling water or grape juice can substitute sparkling wine for a non-alcoholic option.
