This vibrant lemonade recipe is refreshing, tangy, and sweet, perfect for any occasion and customizable with fresh fruits and herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6โ€“8 fresh lemons (about 1 cup of freshly squeezed juice)
  • ยฝ cup granulated sugar (or adjust to taste, substitute honey or agave if preferred)
  • 6 cups cold water
  • A handful of fresh berries (raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries)
  • 10โ€“15 mint leaves
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Optional: sliced cucumber, a splash of sparkling water, or a pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Cut the lemons in half and juice them using a citrus juicer to yield about 1 cup of lemon juice.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the lemon juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. In a large pitcher, pour the lemon-sugar mixture and add the cold water. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
  4. Add fresh berries to the pitcher and lightly muddle them with a spoon to release their juices.
  5. Gently crush the mint leaves with your fingers before adding them to the pitcher to release their aroma.
  6. Add plenty of ice cubes to keep the lemonade cold. Let it sit for 5โ€“10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  7. Optional: Garnish each glass with a lemon slice, a few berries, and a sprig of mint before serving.
