These quick fire cider immunity shots are a fast, affordable, and effective way to support your immune system using simple ingredients like apple cider vinegar, ginger, turmeric, garlic, and honey. Ready in just 5 minutes, they’re perfect for cold season or whenever you need a little extra armor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) raw apple cider vinegar (with the mother)
  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger root, peeled
  • 1-inch piece fresh turmeric root, peeled
  • 34 large garlic cloves
  • 1-inch piece fresh horseradish root, peeled
  • Juice of 1 medium lemon
  • 23 tablespoons raw honey
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) filtered water

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients. Peel the ginger, turmeric, and horseradish. Roughly chop them into small chunks—about ½-inch pieces. Peel the garlic cloves and leave them whole. Juice the lemon and set the juice aside.
  2. Add everything to the blender. Start with the liquid ingredients: pour in the raw apple cider vinegar, filtered water, and fresh lemon juice. Then add the chopped ginger, turmeric, horseradish, and garlic cloves. Add the raw honey, black pepper, and cayenne if using.
  3. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds. Start on low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend until the mixture looks smooth and uniform. If it seems too thick, add another tablespoon of water.
  4. Taste and adjust. Dip a clean spoon in and take a tiny taste. It should be spicy, sour, slightly sweet, and warming. If it’s too acidic, add a little more honey. If it’s not spicy enough, add more ginger or cayenne. If it’s too spicy, add more water and a touch more honey.
  5. Strain the mixture. Place your fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag over a bowl or directly over your storage jar. Pour the blended mixture through. Use a spatula to press down on the solids, extracting as much liquid as possible. If using a nut milk bag, twist the top and squeeze firmly.
  6. Pour into your storage jar. Transfer the strained liquid to a clean glass jar or bottle. Seal tightly and give it a gentle shake to combine.
  7. Store in the refrigerator. This mixture needs to stay cold. It will keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge. Shake before each use.

Notes

Turmeric stains everything—wear dark clothes and clean up immediately. The flavor mellows after a few days; don’t judge it on day one. For a smoother shot, let the blended mixture sit for 10 minutes before straining. If you have sensitive teeth, drink through a straw to protect enamel. Consult a doctor if you have stomach ulcers, acid reflux, or are on certain medications.
